Jochen Rauch was born in Zweibrücken, Germany in 1972. He worked as male nurse at different medical units from 1994 until 2001 before he studied applied computer science with a focus on medical informatics. After he received his diploma degree in informatics from University of Applied Sciences, Trier in 2005 he began his professional career as software developer at AGFA Healthcare GWI Research GmbH in Trier. In 2008 he joined the group Health Information Systems at Fraunhofer IBMT. He participated as software engineer in several national and international projects (like FP7 project ENSURE and Horizon 2020 project iManageCancer). He is the software architect of advanced ICT platforms for biobanking, biomedical data integration and disease management.
