Prof. Andrés Santos (male) is Full Professor of Electronic Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and head of group of Biomedical Imaging Technology group at UPM and at the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red (CIBER-BBN). The principal research of interest is the acquisition and analysis of biomedical imaging with special focus on translation to clinics and basic research. His postdoctoral experience was in SRI International (Standfor Research Institute named) in Menlo Park (CA, EE. UU) where he was an International Research Fellow in his research contributions about process specific architectural design. My actual work is related to the biomedical imaging acquisition and quantitative analysis for cardiovascular diseases in collaboration with G- Marañón Hospital and Siemens-Acuson; decision support systems for intra-surgery radiotherapy and epileptic foci. A new research line is the research of optical microscopy the optimization of biological processes, specially focused to embryonic stages in collaboration with the Institut of Neurobiologie Alfred Fessard (CNRS-France). Participation in Master and PhD programmes in Biomedical Technology and Instruments” in collaboration with UNED and the Participation in the European Biomedical Engineering Postgraduate Program (Univ. Patras-Greece).
